cb refurbs – painters and decorators

cb refurbs – painters and decorators around Cobham, Surrey

We recently had a chance to have a chat with Charlie Bayley, of cbrefurbs.com to find out more about his business. cb refurbs are high standard painters and decorators covering most of Surrey, providing, not only painting and decorating, but also complete renovation and refurbishment advice and services ..

Why did you choose this type of business?

I was born into a family lineage of tradesmen and property developers and it seemed natural to me

How did you get started in this business?

I got started initially by working for larger firms, starting small and eventually working my way up into Project Management Management working on finishing and snagging contracts of high end architectural design works, including some projects that went on to win awards and another that made the cover of Channel 4’s Grand Designs Magazine, a 17th century cottage merged with modern extension, trendy annex and polished concrete swimming pool complete with glass front

When did you start your business?

I’ve been Project Managing finishing works for larger companies over 10 years but started my business nearly 4 years ago

Why did you decide to become a business owner?

Once I hit my mid 30’s I wanted to move on to self employment and get local to spend more time with my kids and wife, grow something of my own where I can get back most of what I put in. Being in management, I naturally engaged with entrepreneurship and felt that shrinking my world so go solo would pay off in the long run

What was your mission at the start of your company?

My main mission was to never leave a client until they are impressed with my work. I also wanted to localise my work and try to generate projects with artistic merit where possible, not just in terms of interior design and home decor but I love restoration based period works, anything 100-350+ years old adds a bit of romance to the work but I do like some newer builds too, especially where modern extensions have been added to period properties. My passion for pristine finishing has always been innate and has never needed to be part of a mission statement but I wanted to offer an unparalleled level of care to peoples homes to keep competitors on their toes

Can you provide me with a description of your business?

We’re a small boutique, family run property decorating business based in Surrey. We love working with all aspects of painting and decorating, cosmetic refurbishment and period restoration works. With a genuine passion for pristine finishing, we treat every home like it’s our own, every time, without fail.

Who are your ideal customers?

Polite, friendly and respectful

Why do your customers select you over your competitors?

I am told I am recommended to clients who are looking for eye for detail, creativity and cleanliness. I’ve seen words like “fastidious”and “meticulous” in written reports of my work on social media.

With over 70 years family trade background experience I was born and raised amongst the skilled trades of South and West London, Surrey and Kent and continue to conscientiously drive our family tradition forward with passion, dedication and pride. A firm believer in boots on the ground, I’m committed to delivering an immaculate finish on every home and business project we take on

What is unique about your company?

I have worked with many decorators and refurbishment contractors over the last 12 years and I am yet to find one who cares as much about finish as I do. In terms of eye for detail, I’m able to bring out the very best of any subcontractor working with me by using my background in Project Managing finishing contracts for architects and interior designers.

I’m also customer service driven and passionate about making the experience with me stress free and streamlined. I’ve had people working in my home, I understand what it can be like and aim to avoid the typical pitfalls of the industry by treating every home as if it was my own.

That’s not just a passing salesy statement, I really mean it
